Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Director of Finance, the Campus Store Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, purchasing, receiving, distributing, and invoicing all merchandise. The Manager is responsible for opening and closing as required.  The Manager will be responsible for scheduling and supervision of work study students and staff assigned to work in the campus store. The Manager must communicate and work with faculty, staff, and students. This position is also responsible for controlling the inventory, as well as sales floor service.

Job Duties (but not limited to):

  • Establish store procedural guidelines
  • Establish a pricing strategy.  Determine a life-cycle of products.
  • Order all merchandise.  Ensure timely delivery.
  • Inventory all merchandise using point of sale software.
  • Plan and organize promotions and sales
  • Supervise work study student workers and staff assigned to the bookstore.
  • Coordinate with Director of Finance on all staff matters related to employment and disciplinary action.
  • Plan communications with students and faculty/staff
  • Establish guidelines for athletic events
  • Establish guidelines for academic and community events.
  • Schedule and supervise work-study students

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree and experience in retail buying or selling.  Or, the equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education as approved by Human Resources.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Computer skills with point of sale software, MS Word, Outlook, Excel, 
  • Excellent  written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytic, organization and problem solving skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously  
  • Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students and all key members of the college and local community.
