Title:Assistant Professor, Music Education Program

LaGrange College seeks applicants for a full-time, 10-month faculty position in the Music Education program. The appointment begins with the 2019-2020 academic year beginning August 1, 2019.


In addition to serving as Director of Choral Activities and Conductor of the LaGrange College Singers, the person appointed to this position will teach courses in choral methods, choral conducting and music education; supervise student teachers; advise music education majors; build relationships with area K-12 music educators and programs; and lead recruiting and retention initiatives for the music education program.


Candidates should hold a doctorate in choral music education or choral conducting. ABD candidates by August 1, 2019 will also be considered. Candidates should be able to demonstrate successful experience teaching and conducting choral ensembles at the K-12 level (2 years minimum); teaching experience at the university level is preferred. Experience supervising music student teachers and working with edTPA is preferred.
