Position Summary:

The Head Coach for women’s lacrosse is responsible for initiating various aspects of the program, such as recruiting, scheduling opponents, overseeing budget, and training team members. The Head Coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by LaGrange College, the USA South Conference, and the NCAA. This is a full time 10-month position. LaGrange College is a member of the NCAA at the Division III level of play.

Essential Duties:

  • Commit to the mission and vision of LaGrange College
  • Recruit, train, and coach members of the lacrosse program
  • Manage the development and promotion of the women’s lacrosse program
  • Generate additional funds for support of the program through the Panther Club
  • Organize and schedule practice sessions
  • Attend department meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance
  • Oversee the women’s lacrosse program budget
  • Schedule games with the approval of the Athletic Director
  • Provide field care and maintenance
  • Perform administrative tasks
  • Assist with Game Day management
  • Represent LaGrange College and the lacrosse program in a professional manner

Secondary Duties:

  • Responsible for facilitating lacrosse players to work home events of other athletic teams
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

Education/Experience

A Bachelor's degree is required, master's degree preferred. A strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept and a working knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations is required. Three to five years collegiate coaching experience including effective leadership, communication, coaching and recruiting skills is preferred.

Organizational Relationships

The Head Coach of women’s lacrosse reports to the Athletic Director and is a member of the Athletic Department.
